How you compare
Scores run from 0 to 30. Here’s where yours sits.
- Below 15
You’re being hard on yourself. Really common, and very workable.
- 15 to 25
Right in the typical range, with normal ups and downs.
- Above 25
A strong, stable sense of yourself. Keep it up.
If you have ADHD (or think you might)
A 2024 systematic review of Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale research found adults with ADHD consistently score lower than adults without it. If your number came in low, you’re in good company: it lines up with the research.
The cutoffs (below 15, 15 to 25, above 25) are the standard reporting convention across published research, not from a single study. This is a snapshot for reflection, not a clinical diagnosis. If things feel really hard right now, talking to your GP or someone you trust can help.
Your score is a starting point, not a life sentence.
Treat today’s number as a baseline, not a verdict. Come back and retake this in a couple of months to see how it’s moved.
